I have an older Vermeer trencher for sale. It is a small track mounted one, all hydraulic, has probably a 4 to 6 foot ft digging depth, digs a 5 or 6 inch ditch and has an auger to keep the dirt away from the trench and also has a front blade for refilling the ditch. It has a creeper and will sit and dig with no more work from the operator than bumping a steering arm once in awhile to keep it going straight. To use the blade you sit on a seat on top of the engine and steer with the clutches. It is an older model and hasn't been used for years but should start right up and be ready to go to work with very little effort. It doesn't appear to have had a lot of use and has probably been stored since the early 80's. The tracks are good and tight with some wear on them but they roll well and shouldn't be a problem. It is probably a 1970's model. It has one small pulley that has a chip out of it and needs to be replaced, needs a battery and probably a carb cleaning. It is powered by a 16 HP single cylinder Wisconsin engine so parts and service are no problem. The rest of it is all pretty straight forward parts off a shelf so it would be easy to work on. I bought it to lay some power and water lines at a cabin I was building but never got around to getting it running and just used my backhoe for the lines. I have a big tractor so I can set it on your trailer or in the back of your pickup. It fits nicely in the box of a pickup and I would guess weighs about 1000 lbs. I paid $1000 and hauled it home in a Ford F-150 about ten years ago. I ran one of these working construction when I was young and it would do more work and dig more ditch in an hour than three men with shovels could do all day. They are a great small trencher and Vermeer still builds a similar unit today that sells for about $20,000. It would be great for somebody doing sprinklers or laying electrical. It is stored about 20 miles east of Helena. I'll have a few more pictures in a day or two. Thanks, Stan @ 406-949-3448 cell
